Ian M. Hand

Executive Summary:

Ian Hand has lived in California for eleven years, recently retiring after a decade as Trade Director of the Australian Trade Commission in Los Angeles. During this time he helped hundreds of Australian companies enter the U.S. market.

He left Australia following a career as a marketing executive for several major companies: BTR-Nylex, WR Grace (Cryovac Australia); Liquid Air Australia, ICI Australia and Dulux Australia.

Ian commenced work as a chemist in the surface coatings industry, and has retained membership of the Royal Australian Chemical Institute. As a marketing alumnus from Monash University (Melbourne), for many years he lectured in industrial marketing to graduate and undergraduate students.

He has maintained a keen interest in business, and is an astute observer of cross-cultural business practices.

He currently consults to and represents international businesses in the USA.
